The Pele Tower, also known as ‘The Vicars Pele’, was the first of it’s kind. It was built in AD 1300 for the Vicar of Corbridge and was lived in as a fortified vicarage until the early 17th Century.
Today we are a unique venue selling quality craft ales, wines and spirits along with speciality coffees and teas. This truly unique and historic setting has three floors, each with it’s own unique ambience.
The Pele Tower is a Grade 1 Listed building with National Monument Status.

The Pele Wine Club
We are delighted to launch our first WINE CLUB event taking place on Thursday 26th of January 7pm on the Mezzanine level of The Pele.
The cost is £22.50 per head (includes light snacks to accompany the wine selection). Opening OFFER, enjoy the evening FREE with any case of wine ordered on the night (ticket price deducted from order).

Private Hire
Why not hire The Pele for an exclusive and intimate event. Our rates include a member of our Pele Staff, the Vault Bar and exclusive use of all three tower levels.
The venue has a cosy dedicated bar in the vault, a warm and welcoming fireplace on the first floor (the fire will be lit for your arrival) and a contemporary top-floor mezzanine level.
The Pele also benefits from a multi level audio system allowing you to select the music for your event along with a hidden projector and pull-down screen on the middle floor.
- The cost is £105 per hour, with a min of three hours of hire.
- Full-day hire runs from 10am-midnight and is discounted to £1000.
- Please note: Private hire is currently available Mon-Wed.

The Pele Tower is privately owned and protected by law as a scheduled monument. We are very keen to ensure that we protect and build on the heritage of the building for all.

The Pele tower is an historic monument with a unique and intimate feeling. It is important to note the stone stairs may be difficult for some guests and that the low doors a challenge to taller guests.
